We are an Artificial Intelligence startup focused on solving complex, high-impact problems.
We built Tela to be the reference for enterprise AI: embedded teams and a platform operating at the frontier of technology, inside organizations that cannot afford to stop evolving. We call this approach Adoption in Motion — AIM: continuous adoption, never limited to a project with an end date. Two years in, we are already embedded in the operations of leading companies across financial services, energy, telecom, and other sectors.
Judicial calculation is one of the frontiers we are automating end to end, transforming one of the most technical, critical, and sensitive processes in the legal and financial sectors into an AI-native product.
We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer.
This is a role for builders who want to own hard problems inside large, demanding enterprises.
You'll work shoulder to shoulder with clients, learn how their operation actually runs, and build the automations, integrations, and agent workflows that solve painful, valuable problems. When something works for one client and looks like a bigger product, you help turn it into a verticalized offering we can deploy again.
The work has to move the economics of the business: speed, cost, quality, risk, capacity — or all of it at once.
This isn't the person who sits between sales and engineering, builds decks, or relays requirements. The job is to build. You'll write production code, make architecture calls, wrestle messy systems, and stay close enough to the client to know whether what you shipped actually worked.
It's remote-first, but expect to travel when it changes the outcome: workshops, deployments, go-lives, executive rooms — the moments where being there matters.
What You'll Do
- Build AI agent workflows, integrations, and automations for real client use cases.
- Work directly with clients to understand their systems, processes, and constraints.
- Ship production software — not demos that die after the pilot.
- Turn patterns that repeat across clients into reusable products, components, and playbooks.
- Deploy those products at new clients and adapt them to what the field actually looks like.
- Keep solutions evolving after the first go-live, as models, workflows, and needs change.
- Make trade-offs visible to the client and to Tela: scope, architecture, reliability, timeline, business impact.
- Measure impact in the client's language: speed, cost, quality, risk, capacity freed up.
- Build internal tools that make delivery faster and less fragile.
- Feed field learnings back to product and engineering to sharpen the platform.
What We're Looking For
- Experience shipping production software.
- Strong TypeScript.
- You design systems that are maintainable, scalable, and simple enough to actually operate.
- You can understand a business process and translate it into software.
- Good judgment on trade-offs between speed, quality, scope, and business value.
- You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical people alike.
- Working-level Portuguese and English.
- Willing to travel for client work when it matters.
- Builder mindset: you build the tools, abstractions, and automations that make the whole team faster.
Bonus Points
- You've worked with enterprise clients.
- You've worked with AI agents, workflow automation, legal tech, financial operations, or enterprise integrations.
- You've built internal platforms, developer tools, or automation frameworks.
- You've turned client-specific work into reusable products or technical primitives.
How We Operate
Tela is a high-agency environment. Five principles you'll feel from day one:
- Ownership is total. If it's yours, it's yours. Outcomes included.
- Overdelivery through thinking: the fastest path is rarely the obvious one. Push back on work that isn't worth the time, and find the better version of it.
- Candor runs both ways. We'll tell you straight when you're great and when you're not. You're expected to do the same.
- Assume intent. When something's breaking, the first question is "how do I help?"
- Embrace ambiguity: move forward without perfect information, structuring problems and paths to solutions as you go.
- Purpose over momentum. We don't do things just because they're in front of us.
Inside Tela, everyone is a chef. A form of respect that recognizes every role as essential to the final result, and a reminder that the standard we hold ourselves to is a 3-Michelin-star experience.
What you'll get
- Market leading compensation
- Equity upside — Grow with the company you help build
- Global product exposure — Your work will impact clients worldwide
- PTO — Recharge when you need it
- Direct access to founders — Real influence over our roadmap
